myra from the green division, who has been with sfmta for 13 years. the next award is being presented to miss angela jensen from woods who has been with us for 12 years. both operators are being recognized today for displaying exceptional service in and a high level of citizenship. on november 29th, 2012, she demand outstanding compassion to a victim of assault who boarded hurricane train in the area of sunnyvale and, nor shore. her quick response to notify central control and police and ambulance while providing compt to the victim until the police and arrival of the ambulance has earned her recognition today. on tuesday, november 20 20 12 miss [stkwro-pb/]son witnessed a robbery in progress on the corner of or and corbett streets. as her coach was approaching the scene she took immediate action, instantly notifying central control and requesting police assistance. the prompt response by hitting the panic button resulted in the hasty retreat of the robber. consequencely saving the victim from more serious marm. we would like to thank both of you for finding such a fine scene ofle of

, on december 28th we provided free service on muni vehicles to our customers in honor of the sfmta's 100 anniversary and on december 31 as well for the traditional free new year's eve service. both campaigns were promoted extensively by a multi lingual, multi media advertising that included print advertising and 17 newspapers, muni bus exteriors, website banners and information and press releases. banners and kiosks in muni metro stations. additionally we ran over 650 30-second tv commercials on comcast tv, featuring the mayor and director reiskin promoting new year's eve ride free. this year's promotion got a boost from our friends at phillip yips 66, who underwrote the campaign with their sponsorship we were able to acquire additional advertising in the form of multi-lingual spots and traffic reports and led signage on the approaches to the bay bridge from december 26th through new year's eve. a centennial video produced by sfgovtv and the agencies's marketing department will be shown to the board on its january 29th workshop. looking forward to that. the agency has also developed var

. >> moving on to the regular agenda, item 11 presentation bun discussion regarding the sfmta's 2012 year-end financial audit. good afternoon. >> good afternoon. so we're here to present the fiscal year audit, as we do every year, fiscal 11-12. as you remember from prior years, the auditor is selected by the controller, and the auditor comes in and gives the financial picture of our financial status. and also does a single-audit and provides letter. this is a second year in a row we have received no findings, which is good and this is the first year we have -- this is the earliest we have completed the audit, which is a good trend. so here we're comparing fy11 fy12 numbers, our revenues went up by $6 1 million and you can see the areas where our revenues went up. the majority of it came from the general fund baseline, which you know, because the economy improved, we received additional general fund monies. and we also received significant more additional federal and state grants. those are our two largest increases in state revenue. we also got $16 million from fares and parking mete

. for members' reference this project provides a communication platform for the existing sfmta central control functions to be seamlessly migrated and to plug in as one unfied and integrated network. as a quick contract bidding history for members, the director of transportation notified this body he had an authorized a bid call for this contract. with his directive our agency opened bids and were received from blocka construction at $24,116,000. lk comstock, normal transit, inc. and the high bidder was dallas transport and security at $26,530,000. bids were received from the second and third bidders. division staff and the [kwr-frpb/]'s office investigated all of these allegations and found them to be without merit. contract compliance determined that the low bidder met the 20% sbe goal as prescribed and also in compliance with the administrative code chapter 12b. staff recommends award of the contract to blocka construction as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $24,116,000. that completes my basic report and staff will be glad to answer any questions that members

, she also oversees sfmta enforcement, the parking and traffic control officers who are sometimes out there at the busiest intersections making sure people can get across safely. and i do want to reemphasize the point, reading that text message is not more important than your getting across the street safely. so, if there's one take away here, it's please, everybody needs to be alert of their surroundings. if you have a lot of different modes of transportation that come together in our dense little city, we need people to be alert and to pay attention. the chief mentioned some of the data that's guiding the work of the police department. our city traffic engineer ricardo laya has developed some data that will help us target the resources where they can be most effective. but a great partner that's really brought a kind of higher level of data analysis into the picture is the mta's co-lead of the mayor's pedestrian safety task force, and that's the department of public health. so, we're happy to have thomas aragon here from dph. an from the sfmta. i am on pins and needles. do we have anything else to report? it's still at the same point we think they're in commercials. i am reminded from the song from "top gun" "take my breath away" and $942 million takes my breath away and i think to mayor lee for that amount i think we should get a leather flight jacket to thank mr. lahood for the great gift to our great city. the new money that is going to be used here is going to create 1,000 new jobs before the end of the year with many more jobs to come after that. that is something to applaud. thank you again secretary lahood for that. this is one point 7 miles very similar to the length of the golden gate bridge when 75 years ago that was going to be built and little did we know what that bridge would bring to the economy of san francisco and marin and as we look ahead for 75 years it's interesting what this does for this region. you know the bay area has become the blue angels of science. we do lots of stunts, and we are very successful at doing those stunts and we do them at high speeds, and between this project
